A Message from the Parallel World

This arrived today from ‘Yendys Notlaw’. The mystery of Sydney and his lookalike in the other upside-down world (or is it a back-to-front world?) is getting deeper…

Dear Coral

In our world we think it is very funny that you have someone that looks like me.

From the photographs I have seen he does look a little older than me, and not so well kept.

My secret to looking so young and clean is that I eat lots of green vegetables, and always wash and do my teeth every night and morning.

One of the things I would really like to do while I am on a visit to your world is to go down to Antarctica and see where Sydney has been having all his wonderful adventures.

I did hear from a friend that you will be going back down to the ice in a few months’ time. Could I please come with you?

I will be no trouble and still have time to get all the right gear and pack my case. Please say “yes”.

The Search For Sydney

Yendys Notlaw, the little lookalike from the parallel world has been in contact with me. Somehow he has heard that I’m returning to Antarctica in December to once again search for Sydney. He wants to join me and I could think of nothing finer than to take Yendys with me, although I know nothing of his parallel world, his customs and needs. I gather as it is an upside down, round about kind of world, perhaps when he says he cleans his teeth, he does it backwards. Dinner times may be a problem, but I’m sure all the passengers will adopt him and take turns if he dribbles. And how will he sleep? Maybe he will need to lie on the floor, or worse, the roof! (Note to myself- take gaffer tape on voyage for such emergencies). I wonder too, if he’ll get along with The Captain, as he is also booked on the voyage…the Captain can often frighten people at first glance, but once you get to know him (as some of you have been lucky enough to) he finds a special place in your heart. I also wonder if Yendys will meet me at the ship in New Zealand before we depart, or will just be hiding in the bathroom, the sauna or the engine room, once we are onboard. I suppose I’ll find these things out soon enough. For now, we have a few weeks left to plan, and hopefully Yendys will be in contact soon.

Do you think I should take him with me to help find Sydney?

I have known Sydney very well from my childhood, but Im sure if Sydney would still be here today he would appreciate the struggle everyone has gone through for his safety.
I trust Yendys will be a rugged explorer and follow in the footsteps of sydneys adventurous soul.
All the love from Isabelle ( Sydney’s Step Sister.)
